PostSubject: Car insurance   Mon Jan 25, 2010 10:41 pm

Hi guys,

I'm after recomendations on insurance companies people found to be really good price wise - I don't care if the company is totally crap. I know there's quite a few small companies out there I've tried a handfull but still a good 200 more than adrian fluxanator.

I'm asking because on my flux policy they're guarnateed to beat any better renewal price I can find but the I can't find anybody who can better them. So just a last attempt before I agree to their price!

Cheers.

Have you tried FLux direct? It's their sister company but Woz found them a LOT cheaper...

I'll just try Flux Direct now. I'm currently looking at 431 with all the modifcations declared and they never put the price up, which is ace. No other company can seem to get close.

I'm currently with HIC through flux, could try them direct? Tried Brentacre, and Chris Knott couldn't cover me with only 2 buckets (boo!).

Whoops, HIC are Flux's sister company. Looked like a bit of a nob asking if they could give me a cheaper quote than flux lol.

Just annoying knowing they could go cheaper Sad

tbh if they're daft enough to undercut themselves, it'd be wrong not to take advantage Laughing

Dave-R Motor Insurance Inc. (part of the Globodime Corporation) will insure you for 100.

Now go tell Flux that and see if they'll do you a special deal.

Oh, always ask them if that includes breakdown cover. They often chuck that in and I have to ask them to remove it, which makes it a few quid cheaper.

Flux Direct spent ages with me and said they can do it for 415. Time to recall Flux and see if they can beat it.

Does anybody have experience with flux direct? Are they the same on modifcations as Adrian Flux are? Since Flux let me change what I want hassle free.

Thanks.

flux direct are basically an internet version of A.Flux that you can phone oddly you can mod as much as you like and use the same flux rescue breakdown service.

if they do beat flux directs quote jon let me know as I wast told at Autosport that they can't beat them as they are designed to beat anyone on the market now and tbh they did for me.

The bloke at Flux seems really sound, Alex is his name haha.

basically flux told me before xmas it would cost 4k to insure a s2k at that current time...flux direct told me 1300 and they also beat the likes of endsleigh, elephant etc by over half the price. I spoke to A.Flux at the autosport show and the rep tells me no we can't match or beat them due to them being web based only.

talking out his arse is what i'm thinking!

My policy through A.Flux which was underwritten by HIC apparently had a 'gaurantee' to beat any cheaper price they found which is why I was so hellbent on hammering them down, I think it's because I allready had the policy they didn't want to lose custom? But I just ended up in a situation where, after them matching the price, I had two identicle policies with identicle premiums?!

I still can't understand the logic behind a sister company beating their own quote lol.

Why can't you just go with Flux direct for the s2k?

I can, but I would have to cancel my policy with A.Flux thus paying a fee and loosing the NCB that i'm currently building.

I will have to wait until september to go with flux direct properly if you like.

Insurance is basically just a price fixing racket - 1200 for an 8-12k car is insane scratch

Dragging this one back up.

Throw some more names at me for modified friendly insurance companies.

I'm with Adrian Flux currently and have been for ages. Haven't been able to beat them yet.

I called Flux Direct who said because I'm with Adrian Flux already they couldn't do anything for me.

I called Chris Knott who said they couldn't insure me because I only had 2 seats!

Brentacre on fully comp were OK. Cheaper than Flux but with an 80bhp limit. So that's no good.

Cheers Kris. The sailor couldn't help me. He was way off the mark.

But LV have been the most ridiculous, quoting me very unhappy at over 1000 TPFT. That's ~730 more expensive than my best quote so far.

The insurance random number generator seems to be working well today.

2.2 Imported Prelude
25 with 5 yrs NCB
All mods declared (like for like)
250 excess
Allowed to drive other cars third party

550 fully comp

i looked at my policy last night, apparently its underwritten by Highway, who are a subsidiary of Liverpool Victoria.

not that I'm saying the insurance industry is incestuous or anything....
