PostSubject: Dilema for the ones still awake!    Thu Nov 04, 2010 11:17 am

Basicallyy...

I've got GTi leathers in my car atm....but i've got some pornnn leather buckets i bought for the old pug.

I want the buckets in but theres a few problems.

1) They're not recliners and the subframes arn't sliding :/

2) i hate buckets without harnesses.

So, Is there a way i can modify my OMP subframes to make the seats slide?

Or can i sell the OMP subframes & buy sliding ones?

Is there a possible way to make the seats recline?

Is there a way i can have harnesses, Still have rear seats and still be able to have rear passengers?

cheers guys, any suggestions welcome!

Change the subframes for tilting ones, that way you can still let passengers in and out.

There's no way of safely having harnesses and passengers, however you can have harnesses and the rear seats - but the belts would have to mount where the passengers crotch would be! This would then make the above subframes pretty redundant though.

Best way would be to maybe get some recliners for easier back seat usage, however you would still use regular seatbelts - this isn't necessarily a bad thing though, Woz has done it in his GTi and I think it looks awesome tbh, it's a great mixture of functionality and practicality. Recliners would look better with regular seatbelts as opposed to fixed too.

Thing is though, i only really want this set of buckets, because they're so nice, and they're leather and OMP.

Any other buckets dont really take my fancy in this thats gotta be my every day car with back seats too, its just mine. I want these ones! :L

I mean...Look at them ! They're porn!

They are pretty cool... Not really much way of keeping passengers in with harnesses though. Could keep the back seats in no problem, but they'd just be unusable.

have you sat in the seat above?

personally take a drive to demon tweeks sit in all the seats then buy the one that is the best fit and importantly more comfortable.

As chris says I have corbeau carrera seats in mine, with the standard belts they hold me in perfectly on track and are still comfortable on long journeys.

When Ad(Adam86) and me drove to tweeks we sat in pretty much everyone and the two he wanted to buy turned out to be fudging awful to sit in.

heres a pic of my interior

I've got tilting subframes and they're pointless. Mine will tilt a few degrees before the top of the seat hits the roof. And sliding the seat forwards doesn't help a great deal more. So unless you're bundling a small child in the back, I wouldn't bother.

Your mileage may vary though...

Edit: As with the above statement, Woz's seats tilt forward enough to let people in the back. Mine don't. Maybe that's the difference between fixed and reclining buckets?

mine are also on sliding frames but they don't need to be used...rule is if you use the back seats get recliners it's just easier.

wait till you get a cage and you have to move the seats right forward to prevent the top of the seats getting stuck behind the front cross bar if you tilt the backs forward. Took me a good 10 mins to work that one out Laughing

Right, i tried to fit them today as a trial run.

But realised i have no thingies for the seatbelts to plug into. So i need to get some of those and then find a way of mounting that onto the subframes Sad

Such a ballache!
