So who here actually Heel and Toes when downshifting?

I've been trying to learn over the past couple of days but the accelerator in the 106 is much lower than the brake, does anyone with a 106 have any tips on it?

I do this in both my mr2 and van lol. Using the side of my foot on the throttle.

To start just with just blip the throttle (without braking) when down shifting. This way you will get an idea and feel for how much you need to push the throttle down to hit a certain rpm depending on speed for the gear you about to drop into.

I find the harder blips are in the low rpm range. When for example in 3rd @ 2800rpm and you need just a light blip while braking to drop into 2nd. Its very easy to over blip.

Its just practice though ive been doing it for years and still do the odd over and under blip lol.

Its actually feels odd to me if l donít blip now.

Same here been doing it for years and still have the odd one or two that go a little wrong, I've adjusted the brake pedal bar so my brakes bite in the right place for when I blip the throttle.

In the 106 I find it easier to rather than heel and toe, have half your foot on the brake then when you need to blip roll your foot round the pedal to push the throttle down.

Yeh its a good idea not to try it when following an already braking car. Or you might end up in its boot lol.

Also when just sitting in the car parked up just try bliping, with your foot already on the brake. Feel out what foot movement works for you.
